Accepting Applications for 2018-19 Writing Tutors
The Writing Center @ Roanoke College is accepting applications for writing consultants (tutors) for the Fall 2018-19 academic year. Applications from all majors encouraged!
Applicants should have strong written and oral communication skills, good interpersonal skills, and be comfortable interacting with students and faculty in a professional capacity across disciplines. Consultants conduct one-on-one tutorials in writing and oral presentations with their peers, host writing events on campus, and have opportunities for leadership, research, and travel. More information and application materials can be found on the website under the "Application Materials" tab.
Applicants should submit a completed application and a writing sample of three-five pages; request two faculty references/forms; and post a resume to MaroonNet. Applicants nominated by faculty or current writing center staff receive priority consideration. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is preferred.
Email materials to Dr. Sandee McGlaun at firstname.lastname@example.org. Applications received by February 23rd have first priority. Interviews will begin the last week of February and continue on a rolling basis until positions are filled.
